kODAK + ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE

THE HEART REMEMBERS.

*Shot on film with an Arriflex S16 Kodak Camera.

Those who suffer from ALZHEIMER'S can still relive the emotions BEHIND AN IMAGE.

Background. Most people don’t understand the nature of Alzheimer’s and those who suffer from it are often depicted poorly. We wanted to bring shed some light on this disease. I remember my grandma came from Taiwan to live with us and it opened my eyes. The common beliefs surrounding Alzheimer’s were incorrect.

Our Goal. Make the general public aware of Alzheimer’s sufferers but in a way that is uplifting and correct.

The Insight. Those with Alzheimers Disease (AD) might not remember what happened, but they do remember what they felt. Reminisce therapy and multiple AD studies have shown that visual stimulation can result in emotional recall (sources provided below).

The Kodak Moment. Kodak invited the first digital camera in 1975 and has captured some the world’s most memorable moments. Their history is full of ups and downs but what persisted was their pursuit to live in the moment, to experience what the world has to offer. As the father of digital photography, they can change the perception of AD sufferers by showing them something that everyone shares—a heart that remembers.

For the hearts that always remember, Kodak lets you relive the emotions behind the image.
